Yes! Once I was chaperoning a museum field trip and our school made teachers wear school polos so the kids could find us. A stranger walked up to me and asked me to throw away his empty coffee cup. That was fifteen years ago and I haven’t worn a polo since.
I had another experience where our school was buying logo jackets for everyone and they wanted me to just order a men’s small. I opted not to get a jacket. They put the order on hold and then decided to order from another company that had the same jacket in a women’s cut.
It is hard for people to accept that women aren’t just smaller versions of men.
