In my first year of teaching someone gave me an incubator and 12 duck eggs. They were supposed to have a 70% hatch rate and a 70% survival rate. But of course, I ended up with 12 huge, loud, horny, messy ducks! The duck eggs were ok but they definitely had a real ‘ducky’ smell to them. After they died, I swore ‘never again’!
